Katie volunteers at a wildlife rehabilitation clinic, where she helps care for injured, sick, or abandoned animals, including snakes, turtles, squirrels, chipmunks, opossums, waterfowl, songbirds, and raptors. She wrote a short essay about how beautiful this experience has been for her. To accompany it, Consonant Collective friend and collaborator Defectivepudding—another animal lover and advocate—drew a beautiful comic illustrating things we can all do to protect these creatures.
