Instantly recognisable for its striking, characterful presence on an east London street just off Hackney Road, London’s iconic “Blue House” occupies a plot once home to a disused metalworker’s shed. The project stands as a testament to the vision of architect and owner Sean Griffiths, who designed the building under his practice FAT Architecture. Conceived as a home within a home, this idea is playfully expressed in the tongue-in-cheek imprint of a house across its pale blue clapboard façade.
