Do you have a brief comments for the president?
Yeah, hello, my name is Adam and I’m an educator calling to voice strong opposition to the ongoing siege of Gaza and our support of Israel as they commit apparent war crimes against the Palestinian people. My heart breaks for the tragic killing of hundreds of Israeli people and some Americans this weekend. However, that attack does not justify the indiscriminate bombing of Gaza, nor the cutting off of food, electricity, water and medications for the civilians of Gaza, including one million children, while they are being actively bombed with little to no way to escape. A recent tweet by Arnesa Buljusmic-Kustura, a scholar of genocide, said that she and other genocide scholars have analyzed the words of Israel’s defense minister, Yoav Gallant, and they all agreed that his words are espousing genocidal intent. Intent, I do not take her words lightly as she has survived genocide herself and studied it for years. The UN has recently confirmed that at least nine of their staffers have been killed in airstrikes by Israel since Sunday and hundreds of thousands of people appear to be internally displaced inside of Gaza now, including many children, civilians and journalists have even been killed in many of these airstrikes. I am extremely concerned to see my country unequivocally supporting crimes against humanity and want to register my fierce opposition to the continued siege of Gaza by Israel. I urge President Biden to call for an immediate ceasefire instead of tacitly or overtly supporting the war crimes of Israel.
Alright, I have your comment. Thank you very much for taking the time to call. I will pass your comment on…
