In the heart of Paris’ historic 8th Arrondissement, two 23-year-old designers, one a furniture maker and one a budding architect, transformed a neglected apartment into an elegant, minimalist home with a calming neutral palette and walnut accents throughout. They designed and refurbished much of the space and furniture themselves, preserving its Parisian charm with classic parquet flooring and restoring the original fireplace and radiators. Low cupboards with continuous wood grain line the living room, extending around the fireplace and into the bedroom to form the bedhead and bedside tables. The sleek kitchen cabinetry seamlessly incorporates a hidden bedroom door and continues into the dining area, where it becomes a built-in bench seat or spare bed for guests.
